TripAdvisor Reviews
EXCELLENT Based on 2281 reviews fruitmachine20092025-01-27Verified Fantastic tours and airport transfer We took a total of three tours (one from our cruise ship, two from our Lima hotel) plus an airport transfer. I'll write individual reviews of those tours, and this overall review is just to say how brilliant a company Haku Tours are and to rate the airport transfer as 5 star.Their communication was fantastic, and all of the office staff have been very friendly, greeting me like a long-lost friend when I dropped into their office to book the transfer. The nearly-new SUV that took us to the airport was spotless and the driver, Juan, well presented and careful. He arrived exactly on time (unlike the hotel-organised transfer from our ship) and the journey took exactly the time he predicted. The price was fantastic. This is a company I'd recommend to anyone that will listen! fruitmachine20092025-01-27Verified A great tour with a brilliant guide We took this tour as part of a private group shore-excursion when in Callao port, our ship shuttling us to Plaza Santa Rosa, Chucuito where we were met by our guide JJ, his assistant and the driver Julio. The original excursion group of about 20 was split into two, becoming two small parallel tours, and the communication from Haku's office organising this had been excellent.JJ is one of the best guides I have ever experienced. He kept us amused with wit and charm, as well as describing the journey from the port to the areas we were visiting. Throughout the tour he engaged us with information and stories. He is a credit to Haku and to Peru.Unlike most tours, Haku take you away from the beaten tourist-track, and we started our locations with a visit to the beach and pier at Chorrillos where we experienced the local atmosphere. It was then on to the local streets in the same neighbourhood, where JJ told us about the local fruit and vegetables and took us through a street market. From there, we were driven to a viewpoint above Chorrillos where we could see the wider Lima city and found out about some of the history. Our next stop was in Barranco, where we were given a little free time to wander around, visit the murals and walk down to a viewpoint overlooking the sea.The final stop before returning us to our starting point was Miraflores and the Parque del Amor. fruitmachine20092025-01-27Verified Great walking tour of central Lima We chose the option that includes hotel pickup and were collected on time after getting a WhatsApp message from Haku's office the evening before. Our guide Edwin and his assistant, plus driver Julio were all great.Edwin's interest in history and his indigenous heritage made his commentary interesting and I felt that we had been given about the right amount of time in each location. The tour has both walking elements and parts where they shuttle you between locations, and was not over tiring.I'd strongly recommend Haku Tours. fruitmachine20092025-01-27Verified Great wine tour that's not just a tasting If you're a serious wine-buff, then this is perhaps not the tour for you. For those of us that want to find out a bit more about the local area, accompanied by a few local, Peruvian and South American wine samples, the tour was great. The tour starts in Haku's office, with an explanation of the heritage of Peruvian and wider South American winemaking, plus tasting of a couple of wines. As we were the only two people on the tour, it initially felt a bit intense, but Edwin our guide put us at ease and we relaxed as the tour proceeded. We were driven between locations by 'John Paul' - a great driver - in a nearly-new and spotless SUV. As well as enjoying an orange wine in Plaza Mayor in Santiago de Surco, we visited a local bodega (where they were also preparing various flavoured piscos for a festival the following week) and finished in a café-bar in the Baranco area, all tasting wines as we went. My only recommendation would be to try to join this tour on a day that they have other customers and make it into more of a group experience. Passport306144020522025-01-25Verified Cooking class well worth it We were taught how to prepare 2 traditional peruvian dishes, by professional cooks Carina and Francisco. They did a wonderful job teaching us, we had a great experience and the food we prepared tasted great. Highly recommended! Anthony P2025-01-22Verified A Great Tour of Plaza de Armas Haku Tours in Lima is a great company. My wife and I went on a tour of Plaza de Armas with Julio (the driver) and Cesar (the tour guide). Both guys did a great job. Julio is a very enegetic guide and Julio is a very careful driver. Thank you to Haku Tours! Fred B2025-01-17Verified Well Wort It An excellent day. He was kind, funny, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make sure we were very well taken care of. Our driver, Julio, was safe and very professionalNear the end of the day, we had a delicious meal at Haku headquarters. The food was absolutely spectacular, as were the drinks. The chef and the wait staff took care of our every need.I would highly recommend Haku tours to anyone looking for a day of adventure and fun in Lima or the surrounding area.
