Nice food tour
Gabbi and our driver, Mr Julio, were fabulous, friendly and informative. It is very clear that Gabbi has great pride in Peruvian culture and traditions and her enthusiasm was contagious. The places we were taken are definitely ones we would have not gone on our own. One of my favourite parts was trying a whole range of fruit and veg that I never had before. Delicious food, learned a lot and morning well spent!
Stefano was a very knowledgeable guide and I learnt a lot about local produce from him. Ruth was a great chef who knew her craft and taught me some useful techniques that I will carry home with me. Hake Tours / Pachacamac tour
The Pachacamac tour was amazing! It seems that not many people know about Pachacamac as it was very quiet. There’s lots to see and the museum, artifacts, and temples are brilliant. My guide Leonardo was excellent. He was so informative and friendly and he was telling us about the different areas of Lima on the drive and the legends surrounding the islands off the coast that you can see from the sun temple, as well as everything to do with Pachacamac. It was obvious that he enjoys what he does in how he presented all of the information and the stories about Lima and Pachacamac. I would really recommend Haku tours in general. They’re so easy to contact and will work with you to make sure you get what you’re after. I originally booked through Get Your Guide and contacted Haku tours about a different trip as I’m a solo traveller and some trips require 2+ people to run. We used Haku Tours for our airport pickup and drop-off and took 3 tours with the company during our time in Lima. The Lima Bike Tour, The Market and Food Tasting Tour, and the Shantytown Tour/volunteer experience. I highly recommend this company. They were easy to work with before we traveled to coordinate dates and times for our tours (We were a group of 8, so all our tours were private). Their divers were always on time and navigated the congested streets of Lima safely and calmly. We had 4 different guides who were all very friendly and informative. You could tell they were passionate about sharing their culture and believed in the company's mission for sustainable tourism. Unforgettable Lima
Our eyes were opened in Lima - so much to see, do and enjoy here. We were fabulously looked after on our Haku Tour, & our guide was skilled & knowledgeable. He was able to be flexible and adjust the tour to fit with what we, as a group, enjoyed. Going with him to the shantytown was our highlight of the two days, and we were privileged to go. Buying food and other necessities in the market to pass on to people there was an extra that our group wanted to do, and chipped in for - it was such a pleasure. Meeting the fabulous women at their soup kitchen was also amazing, and giving them fresh chicken and eggs for their cooking. I have travelled much in my life, and this tour was right up there for me. I had a wonderful solo tour with Sandy, which was my introductory tour to Lima! Sandy knows the city well, showed some fascinating spots and was very thoughtful. Incredible way to see beautiful Lima!
