Let yourself be amazed by the incredible temples of the Moche civilization! We will drive to Chicama Valley, about 60 km north of Trujillo, to explore the El Brujo archaeological complex. Excavations here began in 1990, uncovering the Lady of Cao, a 1,500-year-old tattooed female mummy.
Visit the Huaca Cao Viejo and the Cao Museum, and experience the traditional underground-fermented drink, Añejo de Cao, in the village of Magdalena de Cao.
The tour continues with a delicious seafood buffet lunch in the historic fishing village of Huanchaco,ne of Peru’s most famous beaches, where traditional caballitos de totora boats are still used by local fishermen today.

Tourism in Trujillo is not as developed as other cities in the country. Be aware that vehicles may not be very modern, and restaurants are locals that offer traditional, local cuisine, which may not meet the standards of higher-end dining. Also, the guiding techniques are linked to the local customs, which could differ from those in more tourist-oriented areas.
