Overview

We will begin our tour by driving north of Trujillo to visit Huaca Dragon, also known as Huaca Arco Iris (Rainbow Pyramid), an ancient site of the Chimú culture. Considered one of the oldest huacas in the Moche Valley, it is believed to be the first settlement of the Wari culture. The huaca features an almost triangular shape with inclined planes, constructed using adobe and mud.

Following this, we will continue to Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in the Americas. This impressive archaeological site consists of nine citadels, with narrow passageways, wide squares, terraces, and truncated pyramids, showcasing the remarkable urban planning of the Chimú civilization.

THE RAINBOW PYRAMIM
We will begin our tour by driving north of Trujillo to visit Huaca Dragon, also known as Huaca Arco Iris (Rainbow Pyramid), an ancient site of the Chimú culture. This huaca is considered one of the oldest in the Moche Valley and is believed to be the first settlement of the Wari culture.
